Site Review intro

I have decided to do my CMC Site Review on Xbox Live's Call of Duty: World at War, a WWII first-person shooter game with a large community following and great online multiplayer capabilities.

Common grounds

I have read through most others personal computer stories for the class and noted that several had talked about school classes and games being their first experiences. I even noticed that some others mentioned Oregon Trail, who can forget their first buffalo hunt! And alas, "Jimmy Has Dysentery", poor Jimmy...

My personal computer story

I can first remember using a computer back in middle school, where we had a typing class which I found myself doing very well in. Along with learning how to position our hands on the keyboard, locations of all the letters and numbers, we also had been given some "fun" time with Oregon Trail! All of this was done on old Apple II's with the big old style floppy drives. My interest in computers grew throughout life, having been a video gamer as well. I eventually convinced my mom and grandparents to buy me a computer during high school, a Compaq that had some really basic stuff mainly for word processing. I still own the machine and eventually got to where I tinkered with it enough to add a video card and some memory in order to upgrade it. Suffice it to say, going through college made the need for a newer computer necessary and that came in the form of a Sony desktop, and eventually again an even newer Sony Vaio laptop that is now my primarily used computer. Currently, most of my use of a computer consists of checking e-mails, and use of Facebook to communicate with friends and family.
